Components to make a "4-point" helm strap in the Valsgarde Helmets

The chicago screws are for attaching a chin loop at the temples, just long enough to slip under the chin, this is what keeps the helmet down onto the head. The rest of the leather is then routed in front of the chin and out the back to buckle this holds the back of the helm to your head keeping the facegrill away. then where they cross can be sewn or riveted to make the chin cup. which the hole should be about the size of the space made with index finger and thumb when doing "OK" smaller and will slip and bigger will dig in places and not hold.
